A renowned athlete who comes to me referred by a mutual friend. No, the famous athlete is not a boxer. He has heard that I am good at peace making behind the scenes. The story is very long but basically his parents have written him off. They won't talk to him. He is upset and won't talk to them right back. But he still keeps the best seats for all local games reserved for mom and dad... who just never show up. This rich-poor young man is devastated. He's a man who has everything, a wonderful life, a wonderful wife, no kids yet, but he just isn’t happy knowing that his parents are estranged.

Then I intervene.

Fast Forward 4 months or so. Mom and Dad now come over for dinner every Sunday or they plan dinner at a restaurant. They are always looking forward to the next game so they can use their seats. The athlete and I meet, he hands me a signed blank check. He says, “George, fill it out yourself, whatever it is, it’s good.”
